My Home Is My Ohm
I promised myself I'd write in here Monday to Friday. While some days are proving harder than others, I thought I'd share the simplest thing I do that makes me happy. I'm generally happiest at home. I love our condo, and think of it as the 6th member in our little family. I know my bed is always made, clothes are clean, floors are swept. I know it's the way I left it, and I love having that constant in my life.
The one thing I love doing most in our home is folding towels. It is pure bliss knowing all my towels are folded and in their proper place. As long as I can open that drawer in the kitchen and see my dish towels all neatly folded I know everything will be ok. In the bathroom I have washcloths, every days towels, guest towels, fancy guest towels, hand towels, and fancy hand towels. If our bathroom is ever in disarray you can assume I'm very unwell. Much like making the bed every morning, if I haven't done it call the ambulance. It's probably a bad sign.
If there is one thing I've learned through the years, it's these simple things somehow make the world stop spinning out of control. No matter what life throws at me, I know for certain my towels are in the right place. Some days, that's enough.
