Babies at Tiffany's

Several weeks ago I was fairly sad so Doug dragged me downtown to browse Tiffany's. Tiffany's is one of my favourite places to peruse and pretend I'm much wealthier than I am. Sometimes I even get all dressed up complete with white gloves just to walk around the store. Holly Golightly would be proud. I think she had an innate wisdom in her love of Tiffany's, it's very difficult to be depressed when everything around you sparkles. I find if I spend enough time gawking and dreaming at all the sparkle and shine, I start to sparkle and shine a bit myself. My second favourite place to cheer up I'll share tomorrow. I'll give you a hint and say it's close to being the exact opposite of Tiffany's. The exact opposite...

I fell in love with their piggy banks and ordered my future bambino a ducky bank. It arrived Friday and I'm not sure if I was more excited to traipse around downtown with my beautiful Tiffany bag, or more excited to place the adorable little duck in the nursery.

I do love it with it's yellow spots and big blue eyes. I told Doug it was our baby's "congrats on being a baby!" present. I'm pretty sure that's not a real thing, but none the less our baby has an university savings beginning one toonie at a time.

  1. What a wonderful "Congrats on being a baby" present. I think it should be a thing!

I love that Doug drags his morose wife to Tiffany's, you have a wonderful hubby!

  2. I'm very spoiled indeed! He even requests I try on things when I'm there... I'm not sure many husbands encourage their wives to try on jewelry. Truthfully I think he's a bit addicted to the sparkle and shine himself. xxxx

  3. I'm blown away that you might wear white gloves...I love it!!

    Also love the duck...great gift.

  4. I love his big wide bill...that's the kind that won't frighten children ;)

  5. I've never been to Tiffany's but if it has cute things like that little ducky-bank then I must go!

  6. Ahhhh...Tiffany's....*sigh*

Love the ducky! Love Holly! Love the thought of you in white gloves!

They have a lovely snowflake diamond necklace I have coveted for 3 Christmases now. Whenever we go down Robson St., I veer right and head for Tiffany's to visit it. It is still there...of course. I know hubby would buy it for me if I said so, but Somehow I can't fathom spending that amount on something so silly. 5 years ago, I would have, don't get me wrong...but now, I ask myself how much that money could buy for others when we get to Ethiopia. I know, it sounds all lame, but I suddenly carry a huge sense of western guilt around with me. Maybe this year, I will shake it off and get that is really sparkly...
Hey Sarah, there's an apple shaped one for teachers, too!

I love your comments & read each and every one of them!!!
Thanks you!!!
